ME 441 Exams

2007 Fall

United States
A reminder, Exam 1 will be held tomorrow in MGH 111, from noon until 2:00pm. I have placed on the website the video solution of the Routh-Hurwitz problem that we discussed in class today biggrin. Also, the solutions for homeworks 4 and 5 are available, at least for most of the problems applicable for the exam (for example, the solutions to the MATLAB problems will have to wait sad). Also, I'll periodically check this site tonight if you have questions...
It's probably a little late for this but is there anyway we can get solutions to the practice exam online in the problems section?

I also can't find the solutions for 4 and 5, but I'm sure it's just my stupidity....
Also, do we need to know Proportional, Derivative, Proportional Derivative, etc. controls?

Well, not by name, but you should certainly be familiar with how to deal with these different types of controllers if presented to you. For example, if I gave you a PD controller acting on a second order system, you should be able to find the stability of the system using the Routh-Hurwitz criteria.

Yeah, its a bit late for me to try and write up solutions to the exam, but partial solutions to homeworks 4 and 5 are available in all of the usual places, and other places too. If they don't show up try refreshing the pages. Also, don't forget that the new video solution covers one of the problems from the old exam.
